Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Reviews customer drawing for completeness, looking for tolerances and all dimensions needed to produce the part.
Creates or revises drawings to produce the part when the customer print is insufficient.
Creates equipment programming using the appropriate nesting software that maximizes material utilization
Consults with management team on scheduling decisions and quotation questions
Communicate with customers to ensure prints/specifications are accurate prior to releasing the part for production.
Assists in educating Sales personnel on prints and programming, so they can better communicate with their customers
Ability to program laser and plasma machines

Physical & Work Requirements:
Requires ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods of time at a computer
May require evening or weekend work to assist Operations in troubleshooting production issues
May require travel to the office during inclement weather conditions

Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient with the following software (Experience with all is not required, but preferred):
 - AutoCAD
 - Inventor
 - Flat nesting software (Primecut, Pronest, API 100, Tops 100, Sigmanest)
 - 3D Programming software
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Customer service oriented
Diligent attention to detail; completes task in a thorough manner
Uses strong problem solving methods to provide effective solutions
Can work as both a cohesive member of a team, as well as independently accomplish tasks
Understanding of SPS policies and procedures
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures

Preferred Background, Competencies & Expertise:
Proficient with Microsoft Office
 - Outlook
 - Excel
 - Word
Demonstrated experience with Drafting/Programming
Relative experience with steel manufacturing
Learning agility
Completion of general technical training courses related to drafting/programming
